Lippitt Miss Nekomia

Lippitt Miss Nekomia was an exceptional mare.   She is from the
famous Nekomia family (Lippitt Moro x Nekomia) bred in 1935 at the
Green Mountain Stock Farm in Randolph, VT.  Her height was recorded at
14.2h and in working condition weighed about 1,000lbs. Her total produce
included fourteen foals, seven colts and seven fillies.
Nekomia produced some of them when she was competing in the 100 mile
Competitive Trail Ride held then, every year, in Woodstock, VT. She
competed a total of six times, and won a first place in 1942, second place in
1944, and third place in 1946. For her one and only year she was shown at
the National Morgan Show held in 1947 at Windsor, VT, she won the
In-Hand Mare Class, and was first in the Mare and Foal Class with Dyberry
Billy, and placed third in the Mare and Produce Class. Not only were her
accomplishments to win her fame, she also was an outstanding producer of
such famous offspring as Sue Travelmore, by Wysox, who rode in the VT
100 mile in 1944; Arkomia by Archie O, 1954 winner of the GMHA 100
mile trail ride, Heavyweight Division and Sweepstakes Winner, placing
third in 1955; Dyberry Billy; Dyberry Minnie, competitor in 1954, 1955
placed, and 1956 placing 4th in the Lightweight Division; Dyberry Buddy;
Dyberry Bob, sire of the competitive trail horse, Equinox Royalty; Dyberry
Ethan; Dyberry Nekomia; Dyberry Robin; Dyberry Nekomiss.

It is long thought the success of a breeders program depends upon the
quality of the mares.

Our mares Sandgate's Miss Alert, Hortons Belle Star and Winloc Tempest go back to the
Lippitt Foundation Mare, Bridget, dam of Nekomia. Bridget, sired by Bob
Morgan, with 30.46%** of Morgan blood, was the highest percent mare of
the Lippitt foundation stock. Bridget left only two offspring to come down to
us today, and those two left a tremendous impact upon the Lippitt family.
First was the grand mare NeKomia, by Ashbrook, and second was the
famous and beautiful son, John A. Darling, by Moro.

Royalton Ashbrook Darling, Royalton AJ at 24.94%**, and the deceased

Morgans.
